For those of you who appreciate the writing during the beat generation here is a little something for those of you in select cities. Jack Kerouac’s “On the Road” was purchased in 2001 by Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay for $2.43 million at Christies. In 2004, the scroll embarked on a 14 stop 4 year tour.It will be at the Denver Public Library through March 31, then continue to the Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe (April 13-May 28); Boott Cotton Mills Museum in Kerouac’s hometown of Lowell, Mass. (June 15-Sept. 14); and the New York Public Library (Sept. 28-Feb. 10, 2008). Tentative stops for 2008-2009 include Austin; Indianapolis; Chicago; Cincinnati; Birmingham, England; and Dublin.
So I’m a huge fan of collecting artbooks, magazines, art, etc. This website was brought to my attention by my brother. Any of you who might follow similair interests should check it out. Even if you don’t, check it out anyway, cause you never know, you might find some cool stuff.
